Even in many complex consulting projects, there is no need to engage a large and expensive consulting team. The project team members, necessary for the different tasks can be provided by the client’s firm. The consultant supports them during the different project phases mainly through providing his expertise and methods knowledge. Therefore, the team members are trained „on the job“ by the consultant in applying his methods. Through this, participating in the project, functions simultaneously as personnel development and as „aid the self-help“.

Especially for sole consultants, the Lean Consulting® method, developed by Mrs. Professor Dr. Christel Niedereichholz, has proven to work satisfactorily in practice. Lean Consulting® is a consulting method with outstanding price performance ratio, e.g.:

  • The client has to bear only few external consulting days, e.g. under guidance of the consultant, employees of the client collect and prepare the data necessary for the actual state analysis. Because of above, the project costs only a fraction of a traditional consulting project.

  • The strategy and the measures derived with Lean Consulting® are specified not alone by the consultant, but developed together with the client. Thus it is guaranteed that the knowledge and the experience of the client's employees are used. Therefore, the employees will not only accept the measures, but are motivated to help to make the project successful.

  • Because the employees become involved, realization ratios of over 95 % can be obtained.

  • Since immediate measures are already decided and realized on the first day, the positive effects become fast visible.

In our strongly integrated, complex and more and more dynamic environment, one cannot take into account all side effects and reactions satisfyingly, even with extremely complex planning tools. With the systemic consulting method, the sole consultant has a tool to reduce the complexity of projects. It comprises a number of analytical and planning steps, one based upon the other. At their end, the picture has lost some of its sharpness, the development tendencies and system feedbacks however remain well assessable. Thus the client receives a model, due to which he can make founded decisions.

If helpful for the project, the consultant includes additional external experts for special project tasks. For this reason, many sole consultants and small consulting firms form virtual consulting organizations by building networks. Depending on the project requirements, suitable network partners will cooperate for the duration of the project in order to work out professional and good value solutions for their clients.
